Settling in to Second Grade

On August 21st, we welcomed 15 second graders into our classroom.  Emma is our newest classmate who moved here from Napoleon.  On the second day of second grade, all the elementary kids enjoyed a welcome-back afternoon full of fun activities.  Our class had a blast swimming then having popsicles at the park.

Reading Month: Fun with Dr. Seuss

Second graders each read 200 minutes this month to reach their reading goals.  All second graders earned a trip to the new Muppet movie at the theater in Jamestown at the end of March!  Mrs. Deile is SUPER proud of her readers!!!

In other winter news, math centers have been the perfect way to make sure we are learning the Common Core standards

Learning in small groups make skills easier to teach and ensures better comprehension

We all love Kalli, our high school tutor, who helps us during math centers

Speed Match helps us to learn those dreaded subtraction facts in a super fun way.
